MINING INTELLIGENCE.

New Prince Imperial. — Tho mine managor reports for the oast week as follows: — " The second ntopo which have carried along on No 1 reef in the eastern end of the mine above No 3 level is now home to tho face but tho quartz haß not yet been taken down. The ground as I expected is much better in the back of the stope than it was in tho one underneath. When tho quartz is broken down, which will be to-morrow, the men will be started to bring along another stope which should carry good ground all the way, and I trust also payable quartz. In the eastern end good looking quartz is being broken out but no gold has been seen. The rib of quartz on the hangingwall of the big reef is very irregular, in some places G or 8 inches thick and at others run out to a mere seam. However, as the country is of a first class! discription there is always the chance of getting on good payable quartz, and as you are aware we have not done a great deal of work yet as there ate only two men employed here. There are ! now about twenty loads of quartz in the hoppers whioh I intend passing through i the battery towards the end of the present week, Tributes: Ohilderhouse and party and McCormick add party crushed this week for the respective returns of iozs 17 dwts, and 19dwts melted gold. Both parties have given up their sections.—G. S. Clark."

New Alddbsia.—Crushing for this com* my was started yesterday afternoon at ;he" Prince Imperial battery. The dirt hat iB being operated upon was taken irom Jobe's leader above the battery level.
