THE SYDNEY SMALL-BORE RIFLE CLUB.
The second prizo meoting for 1875, between tbo members of tbis club, took place on Saturday, the 7tb instant The ranges were 900 and 1,000 yards ; ten shots and two aiglitcrs ■at each range. . The weather variatilo at 900, but fine at 1,000 yards; the wind from the right, but very unsteady. At 900 yards, Mr Pushelle took Ist prizo; Mr MaddocEs, 2nd; Mr Slade, 3rd; and Mr Dangar, 4th. At 1,000 yards, Mr Lynch took Ist prize j Mr Dangar, 2nd 1 ; Captain Strong, 3rd j and Mr Maddocka, 4th ;-Mr Bushelle receiving'tho Ist aggregate prize', and Mr Maddocks tho 2nd. At I,o@o yards, Mr Bushelle, winner at 900 yards, washandicopped 4 points, Mr Maddocks 3 points, Mr Slado 2 points, and Mr Dangar 1 point. The following are tho scores; - 000 yards. 1000 yards. Tl. The above is not only instructive, asshowing what Sydney smalljboro men are doing to keep up thoir practico for the. great International Challengo liiflo Match which takes placo next year at New York, during the Philadelphia Exhibition ; but it is also peculiarly' interesting to our Thames readers, as tho secoßd prize-winner, Mr Maddocks, is a Thames man, who was for a considerable time in the employ of tho Bank of New Zealand hero, and held tho rank of sergeant iu the Thames Scottish Volunteers, having joined that company when it was reformed in 1871. ■
