Auokund, Wednesday. Tho 'Dover Castle' has arrived from Belfast with 364 immigrants, She made the voyage in 88 days, She has anchored at the Heads, Nineteen cases of scarlatina have occurred on board the ' Dover Castle'-during the voyage, and two deaths from other causes, and two births. There is now one case convalescent of , scarlatina on board. The Health Officer and Commissioner went dotvri this morning, taking a supply of fresh provisi&us. The ship is ordered into quarantine, and will go down to-morrow. JVTessrs Nathan and Co. are I ho consignees, and will charter a steamer to tako tho immigrants to Eatikati as early as possible. Tho westerly gale continued up to two o'clock to-day, One of tho North Shore steamers was struck by a sea last night, and tho stage was knocked overboard. Fortunately there were no people on tho bridge at the lime except the captain. When rumours of Casey's death were prevalent yesterday an undertaker called at his house to_ solicit an order, but the captain was onjoying a glass of grog at the time, and sent word Ee was not ready yet,

At Gisborne to-day, G, G. Mill, many years confidential clerk of Captain Heid, disappeared oa Tuesday afternoon. A letter was found in Wyllie's boat asking Captain Ecid to .tako care of his children, and saying suicide was contemplated. Tho police have been dragging the river, but tho body has not yet been found.

A young fellow, named Carl Carson, of Auckland, left Gisborne on Saturday in a whale-boat for Mahia to take charge of a store thcro. A telegram has been received by the police this morning stating that the whale-boat had been passed at Mahia, but Carson was drowned. The body ia_ not yet recovered. The inquiry into the stranding of tho schooner' Queen' at Hokianga, was beforo a Court of Inquiry to-day, and the Court decided that a want of decision had bcou shown in beaching tho vessel, but that tho master|s certificate be returned, as no blame was attached to him.
