By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.

(Received Nov. 17, 2.10 p.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 16. The evidence submitted to the committee the charges concerning the vessels built for the United States Shipping Board grows more sensational every day. Expert witnesses gave evidence that ships were supplied with new electric steering apparatus which made them a menace to navigation. I One witness claimed that other, vessels were constructed of unseasoned wood, that they had not sufficient framework, and lost shape through the timbers warping. One witness stated that ho hat? pushed rivets out of the hulls with his fingers, so badly was rivetting done. Another witness claimed that the employment of inexperienced painters resulted in the painted camouflage peeling off in tho war zones. It is also alleged thaTLloyd’s surveyor passed unsoaworthy ships that had been built in private yards for the Shipping Board.
