DISEASE IN POTATOES.

AUSTRALIA INTRODUCTION. 3*" Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Oct, 16. Mr. S. G. Harris, the Australian expert who has been investigating powdery scab in potatoes in the Dominion, has returned to Australia. Ho state# that his report is confidential, and he expects that the decision of the Commonwealth will be available next week. Any action Australia may take must not be interpretated as a desire to restrict the export of potatoes, as such, to the Commonwealth, but powdery scan is believed to be non-existent in Australia and its introduction is dreaded. Mr. Harris, before leaving, expressed gratitude at the assistance of officers of the Department of Agriculture, which had materially facilitated his investigation.
