Per Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, July 22. A fifteen-round professional lightweight contest between Harry Holmes and Eugene Volaire for a purse of £250 under tlio auspices' of the Danncvirko Boxing Association wont the full distance. Holmes had a slight advantage throughout and won on points. Amateur contests rcsulSrJ:—P. Hanna (Hastings) defeated H. Carr (Wellington); G . Curran (Dannevirke) beat Redwing (West Coast). Both won on points. Fifty-four entries have been received for the New Zealand Amateur Boxing Championship, which is to be held in Hastings on July 27, 28, and 2£J. All classes will be represented. The entries constitute a record.
