REPRESENTATIONS TO PRIME MINISTER.

In connection with the increase m the price of benzine ex thg Donald M‘Kay which was announced on Monday, Mr. S.-G*6mith. M.P., during the day dispatched the following telegram to the Prime Minister: —

Pleas® have urgent inquiries made regarding increases‘in price benzine ex Donald M'Kay, which was raised on 16th inst. from 29s 6d to 80s 6d at Wellington, plus 6d at New Plymouth, and this morning, prior to arrival of boat price again raised 2sper case. This means that an additional £2OOO will be extracted from the-public without any apparent reason. Any action useless unless prompt.
