WAITARA.

OCR OWN CORP.ESPONPENT, July 19.—Tho burgeoning of thetwillows is a hint, of approaching spring. If one reflects it has been a really good winter. Autumn joined hands with tho winter, and prolonged the hand-clasp until ©arly winter was well advanced. Truly, there has been a lot of rain,' but one forgets the cloudy days after the days of bright sunshine that we aro flow onjoying. So it is, or should be, with life. Forget the evil days that have gone, make tiro most of tho pre-sent,-and be hopeful for tho future.-Well-dressed shop windows are an attraction to a' town and I should like to compliment Mr. S. Qr. Fraser on his window, which is particularly good, being decorated with wpndorfully naturallooking grtifl’cial flowers, the whole forming an artistic colour scheme iu good taste. A local firm was recently reported to tho Board of by an Awalcino resident for profiteering. The original invoices were duly forwarded to tho investigating tribunal, and after being examined a reply has been sent stating that .the tribunal is “quite satisfied; in fact wo consider he (the complainant) has been 'exceptionally well treated.” Sunday reading.—“ Hoe yourmwn row the best you can. Lend others-a hand with theirs. Let God see to the rest.”

Every lady has her pot article of dress. Some it’s hose, others-shoos; hutmost prefer a smart underskirt. Those'’ ladies who favour the latter will read with delight of a sale by The Big Store, Waitara, of a warehouse stock of coloured underskirts, in all shapes and colours, at prices ladies will willingly pay and be proud to wear.,*
