BOY SCOUTS.
ST. MARY'S TROOP. On Wednesday evening tho parents and friends of the hoys of St. Alary’s Troop were entertained at a social hold in the troop’s ckib-roora, there being plenty of fun and .games to keep both parents , and boys interested until late m tho evening. Now that our concert is over wo hare started to “get to business.”' Several of the boys are employing their time in making model yachts and bridges, while Airs. Hughes has kindly consented to instruct us in basket-making and rafia work, Mrs. Burgess has asked the troop to keep, and train to harness, two goats. Those, so our Scoutmaster tells us, will bo a good advertisement. We .only hppo that tho public will not take tho ’advertisement too seriously on the boys’ part. Possibly' a drum and fifo band will also be started in the troop. . Our new elnb-room is almost completed and we soon liopa to bo in it. The following boys have been promoted during the week:—Corporal G. R. Webb- to patrol-leader of the Stag Patrol ; Corporal H. Billing from corporal in No. 3 Patrol to corporal in No. 1 Patrol; Scant N. Webster to corporal" in the Benrer Patrol: Scout G. Haggar to corporal in. the Kiwi Patrol.
