IN DIFFICULT POSITION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. NEW YORK, April 24. Mr. Hall, Agent-General for New South Wales, has arrived. He was asked conceming tho rumours that he had been recalled, and he declared that lie had not received any recall from Australia, and would continue tho voyage to London on April 24 to take up his duties. Ho said he could not understand why he should be recalled, but ho refused to make a statement concerning his position.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable-Assn. LONDON, April 24. The statement cabled from Sydney that Mr. Coghlan has been appointed Acting-Agent-General is inaccurate. Tho Government has reappointed Mr. Whyte to act,—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. BREACH OF CONTRACT. BY LABOUR MINISTRY. - (Received April 26, 8.5 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 24. Mr. Hall, in an interview with the Australian press, said: “I have been advised by cable that the Government has decided to cangol the five years’ contract entered into by it and myself. Invariably there are differences pf opinion regarding who should receive the various- appointments, but in Australia, until now, contracts once made have been bold sacred. I am the first victim of the new Ministry’s malignity, and 1 hope for the country’s sake I shall be tho last,” Hall sails in the Adriatic for London on April 24.
