TO BE HEARD IN JUNE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 53. The jockeys' dispute was before the Conciliation Council to-day. It was decided that no steps should be taken by the association, either directly or indirectly, to prevent any, jockey riding at tlie Royal race meeting. The Jockeys’ Association agreed that tlio association would do . its utmost to prevent, any trouble, and as far as the jockeys wore concerned the meeting would bo carried out successfully. As to the dispute between the horsoowners and the jockeys, this will bo beard in Wellington on June 10. A deputation of jockeys subsequently waited on Mr. Massey, who said ho would do his utmost to assist tlio men to obtain their legitimate rights. The jockeys who resigned from the New Zealand Jockeys’ Association at Palmerston North on Thursday have addressed the letter to tho secretary of the association: “IVc beg to tender our resignations as members of tho Association. Wo are taking this course on the following grounds: Firstly, we were assured when wo joined that there would be, no affiliation with any other body of workers; wo were also given a promise by the secretary that we would be known as an association, and not as a union. Wo therefore resent the failure to carry out these promises and beg to resign.”
