THE PEOPLE’S. “THE- THIRD DEGREE.” _ To-night’s Eig new bill presents Alice Joyce, the charming and talented 1 Vitagraph actress. Miss Joyce achieved a triumph in her latest picture, “The Third Degree.” This is an adaptation of the play of the same name by Charles Klein. Under the direction of Tom Terriss, -the feature lias been given an elaborate production, and one calculated to rouse the highest praise. All the faithful points of the original play have been carefully preserved. Miss Joyce contributes a noteworthy performance that is marked by its sincerity and charm. An excellent cast supports her, that includes such capable artists as Gladden James, Anders Randolf, Mrs; de Wolf Hopper, George Backus and L. Rogers Lytton. The play lends itself remarkably to picturisation, as it embodies wealth of action, suspence, human int ' t-st and romance. The picture is seven reels, and shows at the usu». prices. EMPIRE THEATRE. “AVITH SCOTT TO THE POLE.” Tho overwhelming catastrophe which befell Captain Scott and his comrades after they had reached their goal and were almost in sight of relief on their return journey, is brought home to all by Mr. H. C. Ponting’s remarkable moving picture of the Antarctic expedition, which was screened at the Empire last night. From a scientific standpoint these pictures arc in a class by thbmselve®, for the reason that they have taught scientists things previously unsuspected. They depict one' of the greatest feats of endurance ever recorded. The pictures are beautifully clear and are further enhanced by the lecturing by Mr. AValter Searle. The picture will bo shown again for the last time this evening at 8 p.m. There are still a few seats left for the evening session, and intending patrons are advised to reserve at Collier’s without delay. EA T ERYBODY’S. A MONSTER DOUBLE PROGRAMME Patrons at Everybody’s last evening w’ere treated;' to one of the most brilliant and entertaining picture programmes that has been screened at this popular house. The first part of tho programme is taken up by the Fox feature “Six-Shooter Andy,” with Tom Mix in the lead. This is a typical Western picture and filled with thrilling and sensational incidents from start to finish. The second half introduced Geraldine Farrar in a Goldwyn feature, “Tho Stronger A 7 ow,” which gives this famous emotional actress the greatest opportunity of her career. The full double programme will he' repeated tonight for the last time. COMING ON MONDAY. “CITY OF COMRADES.” Popular Tom Moore stars again on Monday and Tuesday in his latest success “The City of Comrades,’’ and the 14th episode of “Stingarce” will also he shown.
