South Australia, in the second innings against Victoria in the Sheffield Shield match lost five wickets tor 479 (C. Pellew 271, Rundle 53, Smith 50). Pellew’s brilliant batting was one of the finest exhibitions ever witnessed in the Southern State. r Bowling analysis: AluUet two wickets for 99 runs, Armstrong two for 130, Ransford one for 13. WELLINGTON v. HAWKE’S BAY. Per Press Association. • WELLINGTON, March 1. The Wellington v. Hawke's Bay match was concluded to-day, Wellington winning by four wickets. . , Wellington continued their first innings and made 119 runs (Warns 55, Schrader 22). O’Connell took 8 wickets for 48 runs. Hawke’s Bay, in their second innings, made 95 (Fulton 24, Mills 16, O’Brien 16, Paterson 13). Middleton took 7 wickets for 36 runs. Wellington made the 97 runs required to win in two hours.
