THE PAPER SHORTAGE.
ACTION BY NEWSPAPER PROPRIETORS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 24. At the annual meeting of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Associaticn of New i-Zealand to-day Jt .was unanimously decided, in view of the ever-incroasiug cost of newsprint and tho cost generally of production, that a uniform rate of two--pence por-copy should- be charged for 'all daily newspapers. The new price will come into force early next month, as soon as the newspapers can make the necessary arrangements. A committee was sot up to make exhaustive inquiries into the possibilities of making newsprint in the Dominion. Mr. P. Selig was re-elected chairman of the association.
