At the Wanganui golf tournament W. O’Callaghan, of Hawcra, won the morning medal handicap oir Thursday morning, with a score of S 4, handicap 6, net 78. ' Imlay Saunders (sc.) 79, A. Barraud and G) Saunders (sc.) SO, H. Crosse (plus 2) went round_ in 79. In the afternoon Barraud did a 79, and both the Saunders 81. Tho following 16 qualified for the championship;—A. M. Barraud L)9, I. Saunders 160, G. Saunders 161, H. Crosse 163, W. O’Callaghan 174, F. S. Parkes 176, J. Harold 178, J. Evans 181. J. Goss ISI. W. Seifert 182, R. D. Wybourno 183, H. W. Kelly 185, D. Meldnmi 185, F. S. Johns 186, R. Moor 187 and W. A. D’Arcy 188.
On the Friday morning, A. Smith (11) was 1 down in tho bogie handicap, A, MT-lardy being the winner with 2 up. In the modal handicap in the afternoon F. S. Joints with 86—4 —82 was eighth, H. G. Stringer winning with 82—8—74.
In. the semi-finals for the champion, ship Crosse played G. Saunders and I Saunders played J. Harold.
The New Plymouth Gold Club has decided in hold a senior and junior championship this year; seniors with handicaps of 12 and under, and juniors with handicaps over- 12. A player Avith a. handicap over 12, may if lie wish play in the- senior grade though he cannot play in both. Entries for both the Saturday and Tlmrsdav rounds close with the secretary or captain on Wednesday, and the first rounds will ho played on Thursday 2oth and Saturday 27th.
