Bit TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.
WELLINGTON, Sept. 27,
As announced, tuo restoration of the train services to the time-table in force prior to the cut, will lake place on September 29. Mr. Massey hopes to do more than tins in the near future by restoring suburban and other trains 'which wore running before' the war reduction was made. Most of the men who went away on active service have now returned, and, if the coal position were assured lull steady output from the New Zealand mines, it would not .be long before a full service could ho given. It will he a little while yet before Colonel Bettington’s report on aviation in Nov.- Zealand will ho ready for publication. and, tile matter may not be considered by Cabinet till it is seen what Viscount Jellicoe has to say on the matter of an air service in relation to naval defence. Viscount Jollicoe’s report will probably come to hand before the Admiral loaves Auckland, and some portions of it may bo presented to Parliament before the session ends. Of course there will lie confidential portions of the report which cannot he made public.
