THE SOYS 1 HIGH SCHOOL.
CADET BARRACKS. „ Tho annual cadet barracks of the New Plymouth Boys’ High School are being held from Tuesday to Friday of this week. The boys take up thenquarters in the sfhool to-night. During the daytime the ordinary classes will be carried on for tho few pupils who do not drill with, the cadets. The cadet contingent will he organised in two companies (Nos. 24 and 110) of four platoons each. From 0.45 a.m. to 9.15 p.m. the administration will be military, disciplinary powers being ’vested in the commandant, Major E. P. Cox, 11th (Taranaki Rifles) Regiment, acting in conjunction with the headmaster (Air. W. H. Moyes). From 9 .15 p.m. to 6.45 the administration will be civil, and as snob will be dealt with by the headmaster. All ordinary school rides wdl (in addition to military oraors) hoiu good, but breaches of them between 0 45 a.m. and 9.15 p.m. will be treated as military offences. Military uniform will be worn by those to whom it has been issued, and others will wear the school outfit. . The staff will consist of Captain J. T. Dallinger, adjutant, and Lieutenant King, in charge of musketry, amt seven instructors. On Friday, from 2 o’clock, there will be a parents’ day. The programme will include a march past and exhibition of physical training. A shiciu presented by the Christchurch Press as a trophy ‘for a shooting competition among the secondary schools of the North Island will he presented to the school, who have_ won it. It is not yet known definitely who will make the presentation.
