THE POLITICAL PROBLEM
MORE DIFFICULT THAN EVER,

A military order issued in Ireland prohibits assemblies, including fairs and markets in County Tipperary and part of County Galway. The Times’ political correspondent says that Mr. Lloyd George proposes to take the Irish question in hand and has summoned Lord French to London. He finds the problten more difficult than three months ago. The Nationalists’ temper is sullen and exasperated, whilst the outbreak of crime has thrown even the most moderate Unionists back upon an immovable policy of law and order.—Times. The military at Dublin raided and suppressed the following newspapers; Griffiths’ organ “Irish Nationality,” “New Ireland,” “Tho Republic,” and “The Voice of Labour.” —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
