EVERYBODY’S. MADGE KENNEDY AND TOM MOORE. IN "THE FAIR PRETENDER." Madge Kennedy's latest picture "The Fair Pretender." bids fair to eclipse all her previous efforts, and in the support of Tom Moore she has a leading man who is hard to beat. Madge, as the little stenographer who poses as a widow, falls in love with the alleged successful author, also a poseur, and the humorous situations with which the play abounds cause laughter long and l oiul. When the fictitious and supposed dead husband enters the. scene ho is very much alive, and there is every possibility of the "bluff being called.’’ Madge rises to the occasion, and her treatment of the. climax gains admiration for her undoubted ability to got tho most from any scene, 'flic plot is pleasing and novel, and flashes of bright comedy abound throughout. OLGA PETROVA TO-MORROW. ■ To-morrow’s now bill presents the queen of emotion, iUadamo Olga Petrova, in “The Life Mask.” There is no question that Madame Petrova, under her own management, has presented the public with greatly improved pictures, while she herself has succeeded in infusing new force and vim into her performances. In “The Life Mask” she will please oven those who have found fault with her. Her undoubted neauty and ability arc shown to greater advantage, and her dressing is even more magnificent than usual.

THE EMPIRE. MARY PICKFORD AS “STELLA MARIS.” The beautiful Art-craft super-feature, ‘Stella Maris,” with Mary Pickford in the lead, will be screened at the Empire Theatre to-morrow, Friday, and Saturday nights, and also at special matinee performances to-morrow at 3.30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 pun. The Thursday matinee has been specially arranged to allow school children to view this infinitely beautiful story, and oil* this occasion school children will bo admitted for 3d. At the Saturday matinee children will bo charged the usual rates (6d). The prices of admission to tho evening sessions will bo: Dress circle and stalk 2s (plus tax) and front stalls Is (plus tax). Intending patrons can now reserve their seats at Collier’s without any extra charge. The fame of “Stella Maris” is so well known locally that there is no need to dwell on the beauty of tho story or the excellence of the production. It is one of tho finest junctures over seen in the Dominion, anci will draw tremendous crowds in New Plymouth, ns it has done in all the other towns where it has been screened.
