Tbo arrival of the battle cruiser Now Zcaland is to bo delayed till a new date. The arrival date has not yet been fixed. SOLDIERS’ PRIVILEGE TICKETS. AVELLINGTON, August 5. The Defence Department states that the Railway’ Department has advised that no soldier in possession of a privilege ticket will be refused permission to travel, provided there is a train available. It will, however, bo necessary to obtain a permit from the permit officers of the Railway Department. AVhcre soldiers join the train at flag stations guards have been empowered to issue permits. The Railway Department having agreed to tho proposal to defer tho issue of railway tickets until tho resumption of the normal time-table, it is hoped that only' soldiers who desire, and find it necessary’, to avail themselves immediately of the privilege will do so, so that the Department will not be hampered with an unnecessary number travelling at the present time.
