The Mayor (Mr. C. H. Burgess) left for Auckland by the Rarawa on Tuesdny evening. Princes Albert and Henry will become undergraduates at Trinity College, Cambridge, in October. Mr. Massov and Sir Joseph Ward will roach Wellington by the Pateona on Thursday morning. Mr. G. Dalgeish, 8.A., headmaster of the Timaru main school for the last 13 years, has been appointed inspector of schools at Nelson. Mr. E. C. Stanley has been appointed secretary of the Hillsborough Hall Committee in succession to Air. L. Bishop, resigned. A resolution of sympathy with the. Mayoress (Mrs. C. H. Burgess) in the loss sustained by the death of her mother was passed by tho Pukokura Park Board on Tuesday evening. ' Air. Brian AXalouc, late of the literary stall’ of the Hawke’s Bay Herald, has been appointed secretary to the Hastings committee of the New Zealand Repatriation Department. Air. 1). J. Hughes has been appointed on behalf of the New Plymouth branch of tho Returned Soldiers’ Association to act as supervisor and valuer in tho interests of returned soldiers desirous of taking up land.
