RIFLE SHOOTING.

TAHOE A DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. A competition for Mr. G. G. Grubb's trophy (pair silver vases) was competed for by the Tahora Defence Rifle Club on Saturday, July 12. The conditions were 10 shots at 300 and II at 500 yards (sighters optional). Rifleman R. Shcwcry proved the winner. The day was perfect tor shooting, and good scores were registered. Rfm. J. Gilvray ... 17 27 20 61 The chib fired a competition on Saturday, July 26, for trophies presented by Riiloman J. M. Gilvray (Tahora) and Onkoo and Co, (Stratford). Rifleman M. Paul won the competition, and VicePresident R. Armstrong carried off second honours. The weather, although good, was a little tricky for accurate shooting, which considerably affected any good scoring. Appended are the results: —
