Board had before it to-day about 130 applicants for advances in respect of houses and farms under the Discharged Soldiers’ Sett lenient Act, representing a total of about LJ20,000. In pursuance of its policy of protecting discharged soldiers iroiu what it considers excessive land values, the board declined to grant a certain application, after discussing the matter with the vendor.
