WEDDING.

KNOWLES—LONG. A quiet wedding of considerable interest to the local countryside was solemnised by the 11ev. J. Stanton, at St. Philip’s Church, Tariki, on Wednesday, Iho contracting parties being George Blanchard, youngest son of. Mr. and Mrs. J. Knowles, of “Oak Farm,” Tariki, and Lilian, only daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Long, also of Tariki. The bride, who was attended by Miss Mary Knowles, sister of the bridegroom, as sole bridesmaid, was attired in a. brown costume with hat to match. Mr. B. Monteath, of New Plymouth, acted as best man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride's mother, when the usual toasts were honoured. In the afternoon the happy couple left by train for Wanganui.
