AND THE NEW CLASSIFICATION. Par Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 17. At a special general meeting of tlie AVeilington telegraphists, held to-night, the following resolution was carried unanimously; “It is the opinion of this fully representative meeting of operators that the re-classification of officers of this service is anything hut satisfactory. Anomalies are apparent throughout the list, and are causing marked dissatisfaction throughout, particularly among officers of the rank and file., AVhilst having the fullest confidence in the executive officers of our association, we urge upon the latter the urgent necessity of calling a conference of delegates representing all branches, and look to them to bring about a betterment of conditions generally. “Furthermore, we wish to express cut utmost dissatisfaction in regard to the payment of the war bonus authorised by the Postmaster-General, which we consider much overdue, and trust an early settlement will be arrived at. That ia. tho event of the departmentnot reconsidering the recent classification and granting of tjic already authorised war bonus, members of the telegraph service stand together and consider taking drastic action.” A section of tho Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association carried a resolution expressing indignation of tho unsatisfactory rate of salaries allotted to tho rank and file ia the new classification.
