Tin.—£236 12s 6d and £232 17s 6d. Silver.—s-lJd per oz. . LONDON, June 12. At tho London wool sales 9392 bales were offered and sold. There was a fair attendance, Continental buyers being well represented. There was a fairly representative selection,- mostly New Zealand crossbreds. Best merino combings realised from 5 to 10 Tier cent, advance on tho average rates at last* London sales. Shabby combings were slightly easier. There was keen competition for carbonising wools, fine crossbreds realising prices fully equal to Liverpool rates. Slipcs were unchanged. The Bradford market is stead} - , prices being firm. Newton King reports: At Kaponga on (ith inst. mixed weaners made 21s 6d to 24s 6d, forward conditioned cows £lO 13s, lighter sorts £8 6s to £9 Bs, ordinary stores £6 to £7 11s, boners £2 15s to £3 17s 6d, dairy heifers £8 7s, dairy cows (spg) £23, others £8 10s to £ll 10s. A dairy herd of backward and poor conditioned cows sold on account of Mr D. Maindonald, the best cows made £l2 to £l3 10s, others £7 10s to £ll. At Rahotu on 6th inst the yards were well tilled and a very satisfactory sale resulted. Weaner heifers made £2 15s, weaner steers £2 5s 6d, empty heifers £5 11s, 20-month steers £5 7s to £6 11s, inferior £3 7s to £4 2s (id, 2J-ycar do. £8 10s, smaller do. £7 His, ordinary store cows £6 Is to £8 13s 6d; boners £2 15s to £4 6s, a choice lino of Jersey springing heifers sold on account of Mr. Archie' Phillips made £ls 10s, others £10; dairy eotvs made up to £l9. I also sold a part dairy on account of Momono Tamihana, best cows making £l2 10s to £l4, backward sorts £7 10s to £ll 10s. At L>enui on 9th inst. weaner heifers made £3. mixed weaners 28s 6d, 18 to 20-month empty heifers £4 4s to £4 Ife (id, others £2 10s to £3 17s 6d, store cows £5 7s 6d to £6, boners £4 ss; 18-month steers £4 10s, dairy heifers £8 10s, small and backward do. £4 10s to £5 7s, forward conditioned ewes 20s, C-tooth to f.m. owes (in lamb) 240. At Stony River on 10th inst all classes came forward in fair numbers, a satisfactory sale resulting. Mixed weaners £2 Is, 18 to 20-month empty heifers £4 10s to £5 ss, 2i-year steers £8 10s, ordinary store cows £5 5s to £7 16s, boners £2 to £6 os, working bullocks made £25 to £3O per pair, fat wethers 34s 9d, fresh-conditioned ewes 19s 3d, dairy heifers (springing) £lO 10s to £ll 15s, others £lO to £lO 17s 6d, smaller sorts £7 lls 64 to £8 3s 6d, heifers (calved) £l2 1.55, dairy cows, best, £.16; others £9 15s to £ll ss.

At Kohuratahi on 11th inst., in conjunction with the N.Z. Loan Co., 1 held a sheep and cattle sale. Practically every, pen offered changed Hands, demands for all classes proving in excess of stock yarded. 18 to 20-montl: steers £4 13s 6d to £G 11s, 18 to 20month empty heifers £4 15s to £6 10s bulls £4 10s, mixed weaners £2 10s springing heifers £8 us, medium lambs 15s 3d to 16s 10-d, smaller do 11s, 2tooth wethers 25s Id to 275, inferioi do. 21s. At Wniwakaiho on 12th inst. best conditioned cows made £8 Is to £f los, ordinary stores £4 10s to £5 10s boners £2 10s to £6, bulls £lO 10s -dairy cows £lO. At Stratford on oth inst. mixcc weaners 30s to 35s 6d, others 16s tc 255, 18-month empty heifers £4 us tc £5 17s Cd, forward conditioned eowf £9 7s 6d to £lO 15e, lighter do. £8 os to £9, ordinary stores £5 to £7 7s Cd. dairy heifers £9 los to £ll, best daily cows £l3 us to £l6, others £8 us tc £l2. At Messrs. Hurley Bros.’ farm, Tc Ngutu. Okaiawa, on Oth inst. I conducted a dispersal sale of their herd. Tlie cows proved an exceptionally fine lot, the satisfactory average of £lB 18s being obtained. Best cows made from £2O to £3O, others from £l4 10s to £l9, cows (in milk) £l3, dairy heifers made £lO to £l3, store cows £B. On the 14th inst., at Matapu, I conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. F. T. M'Cartby. Buyers ationded in good numbers, bidding proving very brisk throughout. Best cows made from £ls to £2B, backward sorts £8 to £l2, farm implements and sundries sold at ordinary rates. On 13tb inst. at "801 l Block I conducted a dispersal sale of pedigree Jersey cattle on account of Messrs. J. H. Street, S. W. Shaw, and G. A. lli*dler. Buyers wore in attendance from all parts of the Dominion, ■ quite a number of cattle are leaving -the district. Mr. Street left nothing to he desired in the way of catering for all those present, this alone being deserving of the very successful sale he had. Mr. Street’s cows made IS to 135 guineas. 3-ycar heifer 10-5 guineas, 2-year heifers 45 to 65 guineas, 20-month heifers 18 to 55 guineas, yearling heifers 22 to 30 guineas, heifer Cairo's 16 to 50 guineas, 2-year old bull, SO guineas. Yearling bulls 15 to 45 guineas. . Mr. Shaw’s cows made 15 to 85 guineas. 2-year heifer 48 guineas, heifer calf 31 guineas, bull calves 15 to SO guineas. Mr. Hadlers cows made 60 guineas, 2-year heifer 46 guineas.
