AT PUKEMIKO MINE. Per Prcrs Association. - AUCKLAND, June S. •V strike has been declarer! by. the miners in the employ of the Pukemmo Collieries, Ltd., and work at the mine was ceased on Wednesday. The company employs about 150 men, the output boiim between -100 and 500 tons daily. •The strike is due to the union’s check inspectors being refused admittance to the sealed-off workings m the mine The men contend that noxious cases are present in these workings, but the management contend that it is the Customary practice, in coal mines not working under water to completely cut off access to the old wor kings.
