ESCAPED GERMANS.
SURRENDER TO POLICE. Per Press Association. HAWERA, April 23. Two escapees, Wiyam Otting and Walter Moormeister trom tho Featherston internment camp, turned up at Hawora, wine they surrendered to tho police. The men. who are steamer firemen, say they have been interned nearly four years and want to get hack to their country to work. A few montlit ago they were told they would bo repatriated;" but tho orders were changed ami they felt very disappointed and disgusted and, to bring matters to a head, escaped from custody. However, they had just seen a paper in which it was stated that the Willochra was to take a party back at tho end of tho mouth ,so they at once gave themselves np to the police to bo returned to camp and hope to bo included in the WilloiJira <lrnit. The police hero arc hold’ng the men awaiting instructions from the military authorities.
