GERMAN ULTIMATUM, LIKELY TO BE SENT. (Received Feb. 6, 10.45 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, Feb. 5. It is reported that Germany intends to send the Bolsheviks an ultimatum insisting on the acceptance of her conditions. ROUMANIANS ACTIVE. AGAINST BOLSHEVIK ARMIES. LONDON, Feb. 4. Roumanian official.—Telegrams state that a part of the Roumanian army is fighting and disarming Russian troops. The disintegration on the Russian front in Moldavia is increasing daily. Whole units proceeding to Russia are attacking the Roumanian towns and villages eh route. The Roumanians, after 24 hours’ fighting, disarmed a Russian division and captured' 50 gups, wherewith the Russians were bombarding Galatz. They also disarmed and sent to Russia an army corps which attacked Valtencina, in Moldavia. Owing to the Red Guards stopping supplies from Bessarabia for Moldavia, Roumania, at the request of the Bessarabian Government, Iras occupied the food centres of Bessarabia, also the Kishinoff-Jassy railway. The Roumanians are now fighting the Bolsheviks throughout'^Bessarabift. (Received Feb. 6, 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 5. A Roumanian official message says; We have already broken up the Russian front in Moldavia, Roumania has protested against Russian terrorisation and tho wholesale arrests of prominent Roumanians, especially in Odessa. POSITION IN UKRAINE. BOLSHEVIKS IN A MINORITY. LONDON, Feo. 4. Reuter slates that light is thrown on tho obscure situation in Ukraine by a speech by a representative of the Rada at the Brest Litovsk conference. He stated that 90 per Cent, of the Rada’s candidates were elected to the Constituent Assembly, compared with 10 per cent. Bolshevik candidates. The Ukrainian Convention of Soviets at Kieff overwhelmingly declared for the Rada, whereupon a small group of Bolsheviks went, to Kharkoff and declared itself the new government of the Ukrainian people’s republic, though they hardly represented the town of Kharkoff much less a republic. AMSTERDAM, Feb. 4. Messages from Berlin state that the republics of Siberia. Bessarabia, and Turkestan, also Pe/sia, have resolved to send representatives to Brest Litovsk. THE POSITION IN FINLAND. s \ DECISIVE BATTLE IMMINENT. (Received Feb. 6, 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, Fob. 5. A Haparanda message states that the situation in the north of Finland is critical. A decisive fight is expected momentarily at Uleaborg. A STARTLING REPORT. RUSSIAN COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF. CAPTURED BY POLES. (Received Feb. 6, 12.45 p.m’.) LONDON, Feb. 5. It is reported that the Poles have captured Mohilev and tagen Krylenko, the Russian Commander-in-Ohief, prisoner. SWEDISH VESSELS FIRED ON. STOCKHOLM, Feb. 4. The Russian coastal batteries fired upon Swedish naval vessels bringing Swedes from Finland. Tho Russians explain they thought the boats were carrying troops and munitions. :
