THE NEW POLITICAL LEADER. PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. NAPIER; Jan. 24. The Municipal Theatre was crowded on Tuesday night to hear an address by Dr. Thacker on defence and political matters. He declared that he would fight till ho got a royal commission. Ho is advocating also a fight in Welling,ton North with “his man Poison.’ At the conclusion- resolutions were passed calling on Sir Janies Allen to resign the portfolio of Defence, and on the Government to resign as the country had no confidence in them, also viewing with alarm the high cost of living and the exploitation which is in the interests of the wealthier. Yesterday Dr. Thacker addressed the Waikareraoana League and favoured the scheme. -He said that the meeting the night before bad inaugurated a new political party. The doctor sailed last night for Gisborne and Auckland.
