John Brown, a garage caretaker, aged 30. was arrested at midnight on a clmrgo of attempted murder of ii returned soldier named Francis Kelly, Tho circumstances show that Kely and a- taxidriver went to t'ne garage about 11.30, when an altercation arose over their behaviour, with the result that Brown fired a "Winchester rifle to frighten them away. Kelly was wounded in tho abdomen. Brown went to the police and was arrested. Kelly’s wound is not yet showing serious symptoms. Brown was remanded till next Thursday.
