SPRING FLOWERS.

WHITELEY SHOW. The annual spring dower show at IV hiteley Hall was largely attended on Thursday and the beautiful display of daffodils, narcissi and other spring blooms v.’as great ly admired, .particularly that of Air. B. Gibson, of Bivorloa. The arrangements for the show wore all that could be desired, and reflected great credit on the cojmnitteo in charge, oi which Air. J. Gibson is chairman and Air. T. G. Solo secretary. Excellent, business was done at the fancy goods and produce stalls, whilst Mealamos T. G. Sole, E. \V. Okev, F. A\. Short, G, H. "White, J. Sanders, J. Giddy, H. Alatson, Misses Okey (2) and Sole (2) had a busy time in charge q! the afternoon tea and supper arrangements'. The total takings for the day amounted to over £SO. There was not a great deal of competition in the decorative section, hut there were some splendid exhibits, and in addition there were * several very tastefully decorated tables and mantelpieces on exhibition only. A table decorated by Aliss Curtis in cream flowers and autumn foliago was much admired, as was one by Airs. Gibson in Kounydia and maiden-hair fern. Miss Collis decorated a mantelpiece with narcissi, frecsia and ferns, whilst Miss Winnie Sole also decorated a mantel with camoiia and plum blossom, both having pleasing effect. Miss Solo also, exhibited a very pretty bridal bouquat in the latest style. Airs. B. Cook and Aliss Curtis were the judges in the decorative section, and their awards were as follows: Decorated tables. Miss Winnie Short 1, Aliss Beatrice Carter 2, Miss Florrio Sutherland 3. , Buttonholes.—Girls over 10 years; Miss Joyce Short 1, Aliss Alma Short 2. Girls under 10: Aliss Alary Robertson. Boys over 10: Alax Robertson 1. The show will conclude this evening and all who hare not yet seen, it should do so to-night.
