OUIDA’S “TWO LITTLE WOODEN SHOES.”

QUALITY WORLD FILM PRODUCTION. For to-night oniy the management offer piptura-lovors a sweetly charming photo-iday, “Two Little Wooden Shoos,” from Onida’s popular novel of the same name. Fascinating little Vivian Martin plays the part of “The Little Dutch Girl.” The old gardener, attracted by the antics of his ducks, goes to the lake, and finds a basket with a baby in it floating among the lilies. Six years later Little Dutch is sharing in the labours of her guardian, assisting him in the garden and trudging by his side to the city market. When she is fourteen, death takes her guardian. Ho leaves her a few coins, besides the house and garden, and there aho lives alone. Lionel, a famous painter, seeking a model for his “Marguerite,” sees Little Dutch at her spinning wheel, and persuades her to pose for him. Jean, the woodman, who is more than interested in Little Dutch, becomes jealous of the attentions of Lionel, who later goes away. Ono day Little Dutch is told that the painter is poor nod ill fn a groat city and she sets off on a trudge of 200 miles to help him. Arrived, she is shown up to his room and finds him living in luxury surrounded by admiring women. She floes and jumps into the river, when she is rescued by Jean, 1 who has followed her on her journey. She is taken homo, but her heart is broken and ono moonlight night passes out and slips in among the lilies on the lake from among which she came. A special collection is promised for to-morrow’s matinee. Each picture will appeal to tho kiddies. Tho programme consists of “A Yellow Streak,” Metro wonderplay; Ma.ry Pictford in ”My Baby”; and Charlie Chaplin in a capital 2000 foot comedy. The Chaplin comedy will only bo shown at tho matinee.
