WATERSIDE WORKERS.
TO-DAY’S PROCEEDINGS. PEB. PHESB ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. The Waterside Workers’ Conference was continued to-da3 T . It was decided to make Wellington the federation headquarters. The election of officers resulted President, Mr. L. Glover (Wellington); vice-president, Mr. J. Flood (Lyttelton); executive, Messrs. Douglas (Dunedin), Agor (Lyttelton), Cass (Gisborne), Amor (New Plymouth), Campbell (Bluff), Wood (Auckland), and Mills (Titnaru); secretary, Mr. J. Roberts (Wellington). WELLINGTON. Dec. 9. There was a lengthy discussion at the New Zealand Watorsiders’ Conference on the Auckland Union’s method of only accepting members approved by an election committee, instead of allowing open membership as in other unions. The general tone of the discussion indicated a daiiro to forget past differences, and eventually the clause in the Federation’s rules stipulating that all unions accept clearances from other unions was unanimously agreed to.
