Nevertheless he received a notices about two days before the Tenth went into camp to join that force. As ho had business to wind up it was impossible for him to get away at such short notice, but ho sot about winding it up so as to ho in readiness to join tho Elevenths, who are to leave for Trenthara next Monday. To his sm-prise, however, his name is not in the published list and he him received no notice from the authorities. Another man, a mate of hi’v js in tho same position, ho believes. _ At any rate his name is not in tho list and up to a day or tw T o ago he had received no notice.' Yet tho Defence authorities say they are short of men and tho Minister makes a very earnest appeal to men not to let the Dominion make default.
