PROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. . Doc 2 The rainfall for November was 13.93 inches, which fell on 22 days. Tho raadmnm, 2.41 indies, fell on the 11th; on six days over an inch fell. For the same month last year 7.9(5 indies fell on sixteen days. Tho weather has been exceedingly unpleasant'; 44 days with rain for the last two months is a pretty good record and the cold winds experienced have played havoc with the grass, and all the cow paddocks are vory bare. Tho continual wot weather has had the effect of churning the grass into mud. Tho Patriotic Committee heVJ a cuchro party in the school on Friday, the 26th ult. It happened to be a fine night and there was a good attendance. Mr. Darcy George brought two carloads from Urenui, and t amongst the passengers were Mrs. M aito and the Urenui ragtimo band; this greatly added to tho evening's enjoyment, and everyone spoke well of the band s playing. It is to be hoped they will pay us another visit, The sum of £6 12s 6d was taken and has been handed over to tho North Taranaki Patriotic League in aid of the Belgian F und. Inspector Wbottor examined our school on the 16lh of last month. The ■ report received was exceedingly .good, and our teacher, Miss Wnllach, is to be congratulated on the result of her labours Master Charlie Lee gained his proficiency certificate, and is, I understand, proceeding to the Stratford High School to further pursue his studies. . , . , _ T _ The many friends of Private W. Hayward will bo glad to hear that ho has recovered from his recent illness and is back at tho front again.
