A meeting of the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association was held this afternoon. Before proceeding with the ordinary business, the president, Mr. P. Solig, referred to the death of Mr. F. 11. Fyne, who, iio said, had hcen for many years associated with the kindred sport of racing, and had noted ns chairman of the committee of tho Canterbury Jockey Club, and also as its treasurer. Mr. Pync had been a good citizen, us well as a good sportsman and president. He moved a resolution expressing regret at Mr. Pyno’s death, and cympathy with ids family. The motion was seconded by Mr. Nicholl, and carried in silence. The West Australian Trotting Association wrote advising that H. J. Robinson (of Bridgetown, W.AA had been disqualified, with tho pony gelding •iu that Staco in the name of “Tim Tracey.” for life, for ringing in. and the disqualification was endorsed. ’The action of the stewards of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, at inquiries held regarding the running of Mushroom ami Persuader at its November meeting, was endorsed. Tho president read telegrams which had passed between the association and the Forbury Park Trolling Club in reference to llic proposed match between Emmeline, Our Thorpe and Country Belle. He had - considered the matter of such importance that ho had taken tho advice of the association’s solicitor, whose opinion was to Toe effect that such a match could not ho run in addition to a programme of "eight Wher events. On the motion of Mr. ICitchingharn, it was decided to make an entry in the suggestion book with a view to considering the sulvisableness of altering the rules to moot such a ca.se, and also to approaching Parliament to have the necessary amendment ( made in tho Gaming Act.
