SROM OCR OWN COIIRESI’ONDENT, Nov. JO.—The wyatlier has cleared once more. During the storms we have had lately the guldens in this district smiereu ‘severely, the wind playing havoc with the iruit trees; consequently locally-grown fruit will be very scarce thus season. A new motor passenger service has been started between I'.ltliam ami Opnnako. There seems to be keen competition in tho motor lino just at present. It is a pity there is not a little competition in too parcel-carrying line, as the freight on one of the services is very heavy; in laet, it olten pays to post small parcels. A largo, number of people visited the Hawcra" Show. The general opinion scorns to be that it was not up to tho standard of previous shows. Mr. Peter Dalton, an old identity, passed away at Pihania on Saturday morning. Bessy Mildenhall. eldest daughter of Mr. and .Mrs. T. .1. Mildenhall. Opnnake. died at the private' hospital, Manilla, on Sunday morning. Deceased was only taken ill on Friday, and her death was unexpected. She was jf years of age. The Rev.
