LEPPERTON.
r&OM ova own coriiesponden^, Dec. I.—A highly successful concert in aid of lied Gross work took place here last evening. Mr. F. W. Atkinson (chairman of the Leppcrton-Sentry id ill branch) presided over a large audience, about £l7 being taken. This is a highly gratifying result and a splendid reward for the labours 0.l those who organised the concert. ■ yellowing is the programme: Overture, Patriotic Airs, Messrs. Hellier and E. A. Golding; song,' Mr. Hooker; song, Miss Fox; song, Mr. J. Campbell; recitation, Mr. Tate; song, Mni., Heberts; recitation, Mr. Goldsworthy; tableau, Nursery Rhymes; song, Mr. B. Wells; song Miss Fox; songj Mr. Hooker; recitation, Hr, B. Luke; dvet (vocal), Mr. Hooker and Miss Brorker; recitation, Mr. Goldsworthy; soug, Mr. Campbell; dialogue, “Aunt Virginia’s Ear Trumpet*'; “God Save the King.” It is quite impossible r to ? particularise the encores, as they were so general. The accompaniments were well played by Miss Brooker, Miss Paul, Miss Marlow, and Mr. E. A. Golding. At the close of the concert the chairman thanked the visiting performers and all who had in. any way assisted, and at the same time pointed out the aims and objects of the local Patriotic League. There will shortly be a house-to-honse canvass for the fund, which will be the last appeal direct until about Match, when a monster gift auction will he arranged. I am sure that on the occasion Leppertdn will eclipse everything, don© in the past. Our next dissipation will he Mrs, Denton’s concert on the 16th, when from a musical point of view I can guarantee patrols a treat.
