TASMANIAN SHALE OIL. BY ELECTRIC TELEGIUrU. —COPYRIGHT. (Received Dec. 1, 10.10 a.m.) HOBART, Dec. I. _ Mr. Jenson has announced that he is willing to give the Tasmanian Government a five years’ contract for 5000 tons of oil yearly at £3 to £4 per ton if the Government will take over the working of tho Latrobc shale deposit. Ho added that in every probability the department, within a few years, would require 1.0,000 tons yearly. The department will erect an oil tank at Devonport and use its own oil ship, which is building in England.
