CROATIAN VOLUNTEERS?. FOR DEFENCE OF SERBIA. PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Dec. 1. Bartel Mihalfovic, a native of Dalmatia, and late editor of the newspaper Zora, has written to Lord Liverpool urging that a special Croatian regiment bo formed in Now Zealand for service in Serbia. Already 40 Croatian volunteers in the Whangarei district have intimated their willingness to enlist if the New Zealand Government will accept their services. Mr. Massey replied;—“l much appreciate the patriotic spirit which prompted you to offer yourselves in defence of your country, and shall ho glad to confer with the’ Minister of Defence with a tfiew to seeing whether it is possible to give effect to your request.”
