A CONSTABLE’S SUDDEN DEATH. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. PAHTATUA, June 21. Nows has reached here that Constable Fraser, stationed for a few months at Pongaron, dropped dead on Saturday, apparently from heart disease. He had previously boon chopping wood. Deceased had a fine physique. Ho was a young man. married, and had a young family. Ho was recently transferred from Tinnkori Road, Wellington, DOMINION TEL EGRAMS. AN EMBEZZLER - "SENTENCED. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. * WELLINGTON, Juno 21. In the Supreme Court, Leo Stephenson Curtis, lormcrly clerk to tho Ohakune Borough Council, was admitted to probation for two years, and an order was made that his property bo assigned to the Public. Trustee for the relief of creditors, after sufficient ha.s been retained to pay his passage to Egypt, where, if found medically fit, ho will rejoin the forces. Accused was brought back from Egypt to answer six charges of theft.
