Speakers declared that Sydney was faced with a serious moat famine. It was decided m future that retailers should not alloy; credit. It was stated that during tho past few weeks mutton has risen 100 per cent, and beef 50 to 70 per cent. ‘Many butchers have been forced to close. Mr. Flowers, interviewed regarding 300,000 carcases of mutton in cold storage. said they wore held in trust for tho Imperial authorities, and it was impossible to touch them.
