KILLED BY A TRAMCAR. FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. AVELLINGTON, June 16. Ellis Loftman, a widower aged 53, an employee of tho Union Steamship Company, was killed instantly this evening in Upper AA'illis Street. He was apparently hound for his homo near Are Street, and was seen talking _to a man about 6 o’clock. Then Loftman seems to have moved off to catch an up-bound car, not noticing another approaching rapidly from tho opposite direction, which was on tho down grade. This car struck and threw him against tho kerb. His injuries were so severe as to cause death at once.
