NORTH TARANAKI HUNT.

OPENING meet. The North Taranaki Hunt will hold their opening meet of the present season on Thursday nest, April 23, at “Kaianganui.” Vice-President Birdling’s beautfiul farm situated at Waitara. Given fine weather, a record number will be in attendance, quite a crowd having signified their intention of attending from Stratford and along the line, whilst all the local sports have been busy for the last few weeks petting - their' horses in readiness. Huntsman N. C. Popperell has the hounds in great nick, and if hares are 'plentiful and in a running mood both horses aud huntsman will have had more than enough by call of time. The throw-off will lake place at 1.30 p.m.
