EXPANSION AND TOURIST LEAGUE.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the .New Plymouth Tourist and Expansion League was held on Wednesday evening, there being present: Messrs. T. C. List (chairman), A. K. Sykes, J. R. C'rmckshanU, K. Webster, P. White, A. Mae Diarmid, S. W. Shaw, J. M'Lcod, S. Teed, E. Whittle, and A. MTlardy, and the U-ov. J. W. Burton. FINANCE. A statement, of the finances showed the money in hand to be over £9O, the subscriptions, etc., outstanding accounting for another £9O. Tho liabilities amounted to £lB2, the chief item (£139) being for printing the illustrated booklet. DISTRIBUTION OF LITERATURE. Mr. J. R. Crnickshank notified that lie had arranged with the management of tho Union Steam Ship Company to place the league’s booklets on their Australian, Vancouver, and ’Frisco steamers. Stops are also being taken to distribute tho booklets on tho Shaw Savill and Albion Company’s and tho New Zealand Shipping Company's steamers. NEW MEMBERS. Messrs. G. W. Henderson and W. Forbes were appointed to the committee. SUB-COMMITTEES. It was decided to split up tho work of tho league, and sub-committees were formt’d to carry it out, as follow: Finance, Literary, Advertising and Distributing. and Accommodation. Each committee has a convener, and the latter will report upon the progress of work to each general meeting. By this means it is hoped every member will bo kept more closely in touch with the league’s operations, and result generally in the securing of better results. A NEW PLYMOUTH WEEK, The question of holding a Now Plymouth Week at Christmas, supplementing the fixed attractions, or during tho month of February, was discussed, and a scheme prepared by Professor Given Cardston considered. It was decided to refer the matter to tho Advertising Committee, with instructions to bring down a report for next meeting.
