WELLINGTON NOTES.
BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. WELLINGTON, March 26. The picture craze shows no sign of abatement in Wellington. As the outcome of lengthy negotiations the directors of the Opera House have granted a long lease of tho building to a company which will spend thousands of pounds turning it into what is promised to bo the most beautiful and commodious continuous picture palace in Australasia. The remodelling, alteration and renovation begins at once and, by dint of untiring exertion, tho theatre will re-open in its new dress and present, its first exhibition of films about Slay 14. Tho entire front of the building is to be changed beyond recognition and the entrance will be after the style of those prevailing in the most up-to-date palatial picture houses of thf) old world. The electric lighting scheme, both inside and out, will be on a meet extensive scale and an entirely new installation will be put in. The stalls floor will be lowered. Special arrangements have already been decided on whereby an uninterrupted view of the screen will prevail from eveiy seat in the building. When the theatre opens there will be six continuous picture show's in Wellington and three night shows.
