FALL FROM A CLIFF. *BB PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, March 22. The body of a man about 40 years old was found this morning at the foot of the cliffs at Orakei. Death was evidently duo to a fall from the top of the cliifs, a distance of a-bout 30ft., on to the rocks below. Uocoasod’s identity is unknown. AUCKLAND, Marchf 23. Tho man whose dead body was found at tho foor of a cliff has been, identified as Stuart Lyell, a middle-aged man. BOY KILLED BY MOTOR. WANGANUI, March 22. LEVEL CROSSING ACCIDENT. NAPIER, March 23. There was a narrow escape of a very scrioos accident at tho gasworks railway crossing as tho first train was arriving this morning from Hastings. A taxi-driver, Joim Black, got his car right on to the raouils before ho observed that tho train was upon him. Ho made a desperate effort to swerve off, but the engine caught the rear wheel and carried tbe car into the cattlo-stop, completely wrecking it. Black was thrown -with considerable force some distance out, but escaped with a severelycut head. Tho crossing is a very dangerous one, several fatalities having occurred there, and the Government has boon repeatedly urged to install an alarm.
