ADVERTISING THE DISTRICT
EXPANSION AND TOURIST LEAGUE. A meeting of the committee of the New Plymouth Expansion and Tourist League was hold on Monday evening. There wore present; Messrs. T. 0. List (chairman), J. R. Oruickshank, K. 0. Webster, W. A. Collis, E. Whittle, W. C. Weston, A. MTlafdy, J. C. Morey, junr., and the Rev. J. W. Burton. Apologies wore received from Messrs. S. Teed and A. MacOianuid. Various proposals for the printing of folders and booklets were considered, and a printing committee, consisting of the chairman, the Rev. Mr. Burton and Mr. J. ,R. Oruickshank, was appointed. The committee was empowered to spend up to £IOO, plus any revenue that may be received from advertising in the booklet, and to proceed forthwith with the publication of an illustrated booklet of about 32 pages and on the-stylo of one entitled “Social Oeylon,” a copy of which was before the league. It was decided to ask the East and West End committees to appoint a representative on the committee. It was agreed to secure an additional six framed sots of local views for placing in the leading hotels and shipping company offices in Auckland prior to the opening of the Exhibition. Pouches containing booklets will be attached to the bottom of the frames, The matter of representation at the Exhibition was considered, but no decision arrived at. It was resolved to take steps to have the league’s literature placed on tho cabin tables of the various boats just prior to their arrival in New Zealand. Tho treasurer and tho secretary were authorised to sign cheques. Tho other business was of a routine nature.
