TROUBLE AT TIMARU. Per Press Association. TIMARU, April 30. The Union slaughtermen at Smithfield Freezing Works are out again. It is stated that when three of their number were going to work this . morning, on passing ‘a free slaughterman, made objectionable remarks to annoy him, whereupon the three say he pulled out a revolver and threatened to shoot. Ho says ho pulled out a pocket knife and jolringly reld it out as a pistol. The three reported the incident to the chief slaughterman as a threat to shoot, and as a body they demanded the dismissal of the man as a danger. The management, after hearing both sides, refused to dismiss the man, and the unionists, (about forty) refused to', work, and are 1 to be paid off, leaving eighteen men on the board. —— , i
